The topic of UNESCO Forum on Education for Sustainable Development and Global Citizenship Education will be ‘Learning and Teaching for Peaceful and Sustainable Societies: From early childhood to primary and secondary education’.
The UNESCO Forum will focus on Education for Sustainable Development (ESD) and Global Citizenship Education (GCED), two key programs to reach Target 4.7 of Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 4 on Education.
On the occasion, UNESCO will launch a study on how the three learning dimensions of ESD and GCED (cognitive, socio-emotional and behavioral) are reflected in curricula at pre-primary, primary education (PE) and secondary education (SE) levels in ten countries round the world.
The UNESCO Forum will provide opportunities for sharing experience and innovative approaches on how to address gaps and fulfill the potential of these three domains of learning: pre-primary, PE and SE levels, in order to support sustainable development and global citizenship.
